In the Washington Legislature, we work closely with partners at Healthy Living Collaborative, Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition, and Washington Bikes to track bills. Our primary focus is on improving health outcomes, increasing safety for people who walk, bike, and access transit, and securing funding for transportation projects to achieve those goals.
February 28 update:
Forward Washington is a 10-year, $16 billion transportation plan to invest in infrastructure projects throughout the state. The bills associated with this proposal are scheduled for a public hearing in Senate Transportation on 2/28:
- SB 5970 – relating to transportation bonds
- SB 5971 – relating to revenue and transportation funding
- SB 5972 – relating to additional transportation funding
HB 1966 & SB 5723, to update Washington’s vulnerable road user & safe passing laws, have passed out of their respective transportation committees.
