As we all head back to school, it is exciting to see more and more children and families walking and bicycling to school each morning. At the Safe Routes Partnership, we love supporting your efforts every step of the way – from helping with policy changes to advocating for funds to build sidewalks or bike paths and to make street crossings safer.
This year one of our corporate partners has really stepped up to help us make your Walk and Bike to School Day efforts healthy, fun and nutritious!
We are pleased to announce that Clif Kid has joined with us to help build awareness about Walk and Bike to School Day on October 3rd by supporting your local events efforts with Walk and Bike to School Day kits complete with tips for a great Safe Routes to School activities, reflective stickers, 250 Clif Kid snacks and a congratulations banner kids can sign. Visit our informational page to learn how request a kit for your event - but it do by September 12, the limited number of kits are going fast.
Nickelodeon is also helping to promote Safe Routes to School this fall. On October 6, Nickelodeon will go dark, turning off all programming for the afternoon, to inspire kids to get out and be active. In honor of Worldwide Day of Play, thousands of local schools, communities and organizations are hosting their own play day events.
