FHWA Guidance
Federal Highway Administration Guidance on Safe Routes to School
On January 3, 2006, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) released guidance on the implementation of Safe Routes to School. This guidance will be used by state departments of transportation to develop their state guidelines and programs. The guidance will also assist local agencies and non-profits that are considering submitting grant applications for Safe Routes to School programs.
