Hawaii is one of twenty jurisdictions participating in the SRTS National Partnership Network Project. This initiative creates state networks that bring together advocacy groups, government agencies, and other leaders.

Application Guidelines
In October 2009, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation announced a call for applications for the 2nd round of SRTS for both infrastructure and non-infrastructure reimbursable grants. Hawaii's non-infrastructure awards were announced in June 2008. Five projects were awarded funding for various education, enforcement, encouragement and evaluation activities.
