Municipal transportation departments work to move people safely from one place to the other no matter how they choose to get there. Safe Routes to School practitioners should connect with transportation departments to affect long and short-term planning and ensuring that the vision for future transportation improvements includes opportunities for safe and accessible connections to schools via walking and bicycling. Please join us as we talk with staff from municipal transportation departments that prioritize walking and bicycling in a number of ways, including housing Safe Routes to School staff.

Webinars on Implementing Safe Routes to School in Low-Income Schools and Communities (2010)
In 2012, the Safe Routes to School National Partnership published a new resource guide, Implementing Safe Routes to School in Low-Income Schools and Communities: A Resource Guide for Volunteers and Professionals. As part of the launch of the resource guide, the Safe Routes to School National Partnership is hosting two webinars that provide an opportunity to learn more from the experiences of local organizations implementing Safe Routes to School in low-income communities-and ask questions. Both webinars are meant for volunteers and professionals interested in Safe Routes to School implementation.
