Pauline Chow, Esq. serves as the Southern California regional policy manager for the Safe Routes to School National Partnership, advancing policies to make bicycling and walking to school safe, combat childhood obesity, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create sustainable communities.

Before joining the bicycle and pedestrian movement, Pauline began her career as a data geek with stints in database programming and business strategy consulting. She then found her passion for social justice in a variety of roles. Pauline worked in housing law and affordable housing advocacy at the Public Law Center (Santa Ana, CA), civil rights at the Organization of Chinese Americans (Washington, DC) and health care access with the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA). In China, she conducted field research on environmental laws and rural land rights in the western province of Sichuan under a grant from the University of Wisconsin East Asian Legal Center. She also clerked for General Electric Private Equity Fund, Wisconsin Department of Justice Environmental Protection Unit and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Pauline earned a law degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison Law School and Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Pauline is certified yoga instructor and blogger, avid rock climber, triathlete and knitter. She currently resides in Claremont, CA.
