Kathy Cooke bio
Kathy Cooke serves as the State Network Associate and provides administrative and communications support for the State Network Project. She tracks policy development activities for the State Network Project to ensure that organizers from the 20 key focus states can effectively conduct SRTS advocacy and network implementation efforts. She collaborates with the State Network Director in developing and overseeing tracking systems for all 20 states’ policy deliverables, and works with the Partnership’s Director in producing the SRTS monthly e-newsletter and other communications.
Prior to joining the Partnership, Kathy held project management roles with Mercy Corps and with the U.S. General Services Administration. She volunteers regularly at her children’s elementary school and with non-profit groups such as Volunteers of America Oregon that support minority and low-income communities. A mom of two energetic boys, Kathy has gained valuable insight into the impact that bicycle safety has on commuting to school.
Kathy received a B.A. in Economics from Smith College, and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is excited to support the Partnership’s efforts in ensuring the State Network Project continues to grow and succeed in generating long-term bicycle safety policy changes, especially for underserved populations.
