Kristin Gavin bio
As a Research Fellow for the Safe Routes to School National Partnership, Kristin Gavin gathers information and resources that help guide policy and program implementation and support.
A recent graduate from Temple University’s department of Kinesiology with a Master’s in Exercise and Sport Psychology, Kristin is interested in the use of exercise, specifically bicycling, as a part of the recovery process among former substance users. Kristin is currently starting a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization, Gearing Up, designed to provide recovering adults with the skills, equipment, and guidance needed to safely ride a bicycle for exercise, transportation, and personal growth. When not working with the Partnership or Gearing Up, Kristin can be found racing her bike. Kristin has spent five years guiding bicycle tours in the Western United States and is an avid bike commuter.
